We are a leading automotive manufacturer, and we're looking for a talented Product Development Engineer to join our team. As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of our interior lighting systems.
Responsibilities- Interface with program teams to deliver interior lighting commodities for assigned programs.
- Lead sourcing discussions and conduct technical design reviews with component suppliers.
- Create specifications, quality documents, and drawings for components.
- Utilize core engineering documents and design rules to initiate and lead Full-Service Supplier delivery of DFMEA, DVP&Rs, 8Ds, and other program-specific foundation documents.
- Interface with design studio, HMI/Ergo, VO, feature owners, architecture, interior, and exterior cross-functional teams to deliver interior lighting commodities on time, on target, and with quality.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in design and release of electrical or electronic components.
- Experience with component product development process.
- Ability to work in a hybrid mechanical/electrical design and release application team.
- Experience designing and developing vehicle lighting systems with emphasis on printed circuit board design, LED technologies, and integration of electronics into plastic components.
- Understanding of diagnostic tools and ability to troubleshoot vehicle/system/subsystem interfaces as it relates to interior lighting.
- Basic understanding of LIN/CAN communication protocols.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a team to deliver on time with quality.
- Strong people and program management skills.
