Position Overview

Grand Canyon University's Golf Course is in search of a dedicated full-time Head Bartender/Restaurant Supervisor.

The Head Bartender/Restaurant Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing food service operations, ensuring that patrons receive prompt and courteous service in line with established Standard Operating Procedures. This position is committed to maintaining hygiene and safety standards, ensuring that every guest's experience exceeds their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all aspects of restaurant service operations.
  • Create a welcoming service environment that fosters customer loyalty while maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Develop work schedules that align with service demand.
  • Act as bartender, providing coverage as necessary.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered at every interaction, including greetings, food service, and bar service.
  • Coordinate logistics and communication for events to guarantee adequate staffing and service.
  • Collaborate with Golf Course Management to facilitate event bookings and growth strategies.
  • Train service staff to effectively promote food and beverage offerings, enhancing average customer spend.
  • Establish and maintain customer service standards, ensuring all staff are adequately trained.
  • Implement food service inventory standards and ensure staff comprehension of these standards.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures in partnership with management, conducting regular audits.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and safety regulations through ongoing staff training.
  • Develop procedures for incident reporting and ensure staff awareness of these protocols.
  • Foster a positive team environment, leading by example and promoting mutual respect.
  • Inspire and motivate the team to achieve high customer service standards that positively impact revenue.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service operations, particularly in a bartending role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a management team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed for bartending coverage.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Hospitality-related field is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
  • Strong knowledge of beverage service and mixology techniques.
  • Basic understanding of catering and event sales.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to train others.
  • Proficient in computer skills and POS systems.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Understanding of responsible alcohol service standards.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Effective communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
