About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Material Processor I to join our team at Daifuku Automotive America Corporation. As a Material Processor I, you will play a critical role in supporting our production processes by performing various tasks such as cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding parts, prepping kits, and lay-outs to meet our customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect parts to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures
  • Properly use personal protective equipment when required
  • Maintain regular attendance and have reliable means of transportation
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred
  • Technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable
  • Blueprint reading knowledge and ability to follow work order instructions
  • Ability to use material processing tools such as drill press, punch, saws, and layout tools
  • Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Team player - must be able to work with others
  • Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals
  • Attentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issues
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting throughout shift
  • Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts. The work environment is normally clean, with some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration. Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift. The noise level in the work environment is normal to manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools.
