Key Responsibilities:
As a Technical Support and Site Engineer I, your role will involve the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our products and systems.

Under general supervision, you will execute electrical, electronic, and mechanical repairs, diagnose, analyze, and rectify product malfunctions, and procure and replace components as necessary.

You will also assess and recommend which products, systems, or services best align with customer requirements.

Familiarity with various material handling systems, including Power & Free conveyors, Skid conveyors, FDS friction conveyors, Fork Transfers, Part Carriers, and other automation equipment is essential.


The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of a range of industry concepts, practices, and procedures, relying on substantial experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives, while also guiding and directing the work of others.

A significant degree of creativity and independence is anticipated.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Monitor equipment performance; listen for issues; conduct various test cycles, and utilize precision measuring and testing tools.

- Complete preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, adhering to site-specific procedures and operation/maintenance manuals.

- Undertake site-specific projects as assigned.

- Ensure accurate tracking of parts used to maintain consignment inventory integrity. Follow appropriate stock handling protocols.

- Interpret engineering schematics and assist installation teams as needed throughout the project installation phase until customer acceptance.

- Conduct engineering analyses to develop reliable and optimal solutions based on customer specifications.

- Prepare bid documents and facilitate discussions and negotiations with subcontractors on smaller projects (under $1M).


- Generate customer quotes and lead discussions and negotiations with clients on smaller projects (under $1M).
- Make estimations for small projects (under $1M).

- Understand project timelines and site activities necessary for the successful implementation of material handling systems.

- Familiarity with structural design and analysis, including calculations.

- Collaborate with the on-site project team, communicating with the design team to resolve issues, and troubleshoot minor on-site challenges as they arise.

- Supervision of other team members may be required, as well as oversight of skilled trades.

- This is a skilled position requiring technical training.

- Availability for weekend, night, overtime, and holiday work as needed.

- Flexibility to travel to various job sites as required.

- Ability to navigate through industrial conveyor systems, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and screen guards.

- Physically capable of standing and/or walking for extended periods.

- Ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on PLC programming skills in a field construction setting are desirable.

- Ability to select and manage subcontractors, oversee schedules, and control budgets.

- Skills to engage with customers to identify needs and potential sales opportunities.

- Requires troubleshooting skills during the commissioning of new equipment and/or modifications to existing systems.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate clearly and interact effectively with customers and colleagues.

- Ability to proactively respond to changes and manage other essential tasks as assigned.

- Demonstrate a customer-focused approach and commitment to resolving issues while making decisions based on business priorities.

- Strong communication skills for interfacing with customer engineers to gather system requirements and translate them into functional technical specifications.

- Experience in machinery installation is preferred.

- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and general computer skills.

- Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software (minimum 2 years' experience).

Education and Experience:
- BS technical degree in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering, or equivalent.

- Zero to three years of experience in material handling and conveyor engineering within the automotive sector is desirable.

- Zero to three years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment is preferred.
