Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a NICU RN at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to neonates and infants in our NICU unit. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and providing appropriate interventions for neonates and infants.
  • Recognizing and responding promptly to acute changes in patient conditions and emergencies.
  • Administering care for newborns, including feeding, IV therapy, and respiratory support.
  • Offering education and support to families during their time in the NICU.
  • Communicating effectively with the healthcare team through verbal and written channels.

Requirements:

  • Current nursing license from the Virginia Board of Nursing or a compact license eligible for practice in Virginia.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a Level 3 NICU setting.
