Position Overview:

The Construction Quality Manager (CQM) is tasked with the strategic planning and supervision of all facets of a designated project. This role encompasses the comprehensive pre-planning for every phase of the project, extending from initial preparations to final construction. The CQM is dedicated to achieving all project objectives while managing all operational responsibilities on-site.

Essential Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • CQM Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5-8 years of experience in the construction sector
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, alongside strong leadership skills
  • Positive demeanor, robust work ethic, and a forward-thinking mindset
  • Proficient in computer applications
  • Proven track record in initiating and fostering continuous improvement
  • Current OSHA 30 certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all pre-construction activities, including the development of crisis management plans, site logistics strategies, and safety protocols.
  • Supervise and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers involved in assigned projects, including conducting daily briefings and coordinating job site activities.
  • Manage and execute the project timeline as established, making adjustments as required, and collaborating closely with the Project Management team to keep the schedule current.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team throughout the project lifecycle, including subcontractor selection, drafting RFIs (Requests for Information), and tracking the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Work alongside the Quality Control team to ensure adherence to project-specific standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date on-site documentation, including drawings, logs, and inspection records.
  • Ensure budget alignment for the project, covering labor, materials, and equipment, and address any issues with the Project Management team as they arise.
  • Coordinate with the Project Management team to finalize all project closeout activities, including punch list execution, commissioning, and final inspections.
  • Provide intentional leadership in Lean methodologies applied on-site, standard work practices, and Pull-Plan sessions.
  • Promote a safe working environment by leading safety meetings and orientations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Support and adhere to standard operational practices.
  • Engage in and advocate for the implementation of a Lean and continuous improvement culture.
  • Foster strong collaborations with colleagues.
