The Project Development Engineer will deliver technical engineering insights to project leadership and construction teams to ensure that all construction activities adhere to established engineering standards, regulations, and specifications. This role supports the Project Manager and Management Team in overseeing various facets of a construction initiative, including financial management and cost tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

- Thoroughly review contracts and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Provide assistance to the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, and fellow Project Engineers as necessary.
- Aid in the preparation and updating of project schedules.
- Support quantity reporting, project financials, and forecasting activities.
- Gather pricing information from subcontractors and suppliers, including change orders.
- Request equipment and material deliveries as needed.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and the workforce to address project challenges and conflicts.
- Assist with monthly invoicing, cash flow projections, and processing of change orders.
- Manage document control, including submittal schedules, contract documents, and project record drawings.
- Review daily reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to notice requirements such as inspections, utility adjustments, and testing.
- Based on quantity takeoffs, oversee the procurement of materials essential for project execution.
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors regarding any revisions to plans or specifications that impact their services.
- Assist in the project closeout process.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering and Management.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet analysis and technical applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of cost analysis and estimating, preferably with HCSS products or similar.
- Extensive knowledge of CPM scheduling and experience with Primavera software.

Experience:

  • A four-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, with a preference for candidates with bridge construction experience.
