We are currently seeking a dedicated professional for Angel's Flight, a shelter designed to support homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth aged 10-17. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to positively impacting the lives of vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will engage with refugee and immigrant youth, offering case management, emotional support, crisis intervention, and vital resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive, individualized case management services to youth and their families.
- Oversee the reunification process for minors transitioning from federal custody to their families in Southern California.
- Conduct thorough assessments of potential sponsors and their families, ensuring cultural and linguistic sensitivity.
- Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying socioeconomic statuses.
- Perform regular home visits to provide follow-up services, referrals, and connections to essential support services, including medical and mental health resources.
- Compile and submit detailed follow-up reports to relevant authorities.
- Maintain meticulous case files and database records, ensuring comprehensive documentation of services provided.
- Identify and address the needs of underserved populations.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral sciences, human services, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience in case management is essential.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
- Willingness to travel frequently and possess a valid class C driver's license.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.
