Retail Store Cleaning Associate

Position Overview
The Retail Store Environment Team Member plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere for customers and staff. This position involves various cleaning and organizational tasks to ensure that the store meets high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures.
- Dust and damp mop floors to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Relocate equipment and merchandise for effective cleaning and ensure proper placement post-cleaning.
- Utilize assigned materials and equipment to clean designated areas.
- Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents as per specifications.
- Conduct deep cleaning of essential areas such as restrooms, breakrooms, and entryways to maintain a safe environment.
- Keep cleaning tools organized and notify supervisors regarding supply needs.
- Proactively identify areas needing attention and take initiative to complete cleaning tasks.
- Fulfill all tasks assigned by supervisors while adhering to federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Engage positively with team members and customers, embodying the organization's values.
- Serve as a role model for fellow team members by projecting a positive image.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist customers in locating products and provide solutions to their inquiries.
- Deliver a friendly and efficient checkout experience while adhering to cash handling standards.
- Promote the benefits of the Rewards program and assist with customer enrollments.
- Support omni-channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
- Participate in unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and maintaining planograms.
- Ensure merchandise recovery and store maintenance for optimal presentation.
- Engage in Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and other assigned duties.
- Contribute to shrink and safety initiatives.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies to ensure compliance.
- Maintain respectful interactions with others, promoting a positive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail or customer service is advantageous.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to navigate throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladders or similar equipment.
Work Environment
- Public retail setting with climate-controlled areas; some outdoor tasks may be required.
- Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and early mornings.
