As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering resident-centered activities and programs that promote engagement, socialization, and overall well-being.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Activities Coordinator, working 30 hours a week with benefits eligible from day one of your first full month of hire. You will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day delivery of activities and programs, under the leadership of the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining a balanced resident-centered activity program following Sunrise's Activity Program Guidelines and Programming Guide(s).
  • Support the networking actions for retaining a volunteer base, maintaining relationships with local businesses, organizations, and schools, under the supervision of the immediate supervisor.
  • Review, read, note, and initialize the Daily Log and Department Log to document pertinent information and resident physical and behavioral changes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in QA (Quality Assurance Process) and essential quality service standards pertaining to enriching resident-centered activities and programming.
  • Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws, and regulations, as well as Sunrise quality standards for resident care and services.
Requirements
  • One year job-related experience in senior living communities preferred.
  • Ability to lead activities and motivate volunteers and fellow team members for their involvement in social events and scheduled activities.
  • Maintain current appropriate federal and state licenses, such as CDL or chauffeur license, with an acceptable driving record in accordance with State, Federal Department of Transportation regulations, and Sunrise policy.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, possess written and verbal skills for effective communication, and facilitate small group presentations.
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills, good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to make responsible choices and decisions, acting in the best interest of residents.
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision, following community procedures and guidelines, and have the ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), and Sunrise applications, with the ability to learn new applications.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $32,640 - $37,696, based on the location in Lombard, Illinois. This includes potential overtime eligibility and variable compensation opportunities.
