About the Role
This position involves performing maintenance and housekeeping duties within the community and surrounding grounds. You will be responsible for completing assigned tasks, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and collaborating with the team to achieve our mission.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including fixing wall coverings, floor coverings, and furniture;
- Assist with painting and refurbishing projects;
- Conduct minor electrical repairs and plumbing work;
- Maintain tools and repair parts;
- Participate in fire drills and disaster preparedness programs;

Mechanical Systems
- Assist with heating and air conditioning system maintenance;
- Work on domestic water systems and pumps;
- Help with refrigeration systems, motors, fans, electrical systems, and emergency generators;
- Perform routine preventative maintenance as directed by the supervisor;

Housekeeping Duties
- Clean carpets and hard surface floors;
- Deep clean resident suites and 'make ready' rooms;
- Assist with other housekeeping functions as needed;

Risk Management and General Safety
- Collaborate with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA/British Columbia Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requirements;
- Practice safety procedures at all times, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and fire extinguisher usage;
- Ensure cords, carts, equipment, and hazards are kept out of the way;

Resident Services
- Review, read, and initialize daily logs and maintenance records;
- Direct resident or family member feedback to the supervisor;
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information;

Training and Contributing to Team Success
- Participate in regular meetings, such as Town Hall, Department Team, Cross Over, and others as directed by the Supervisor/Department Coordinator;
- Maintain required training and comply with state/province or regulating authorities' requirements;

Requirements and Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in maintenance and/or housekeeping preferred;
- Technical school education preferred;
- Demonstrated understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and code compliance;
- Current driver's license to drive Sunrise vehicles provided;
- Ability to respond to emergency calls outside scheduled work hours;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;

Compensation and Benefits
We offer competitive compensation based on location, skills, experience, qualifications, and certifications/licenses. The estimated annual salary for this position is around $$54,000-$60,000, depending on the specific location and qualifications. Additionally, we provide benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, employee assistance programs, paid time off, and holiday pay.
