Position Summary: The Tax Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the preparation and submission of monthly sales tax filings and overseeing various sales tax-related functions. This position supports the Tax Department in executing tax returns and undertaking special initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and Filing: Responsible for the accurate preparation and timely filing of all sales tax returns.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to sales tax regulations across all locations, including managing registration applications, licenses, tax rates, and liaising with tax authorities for necessary information.
  • Process Analysis: Evaluate the sales tax procedures to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Issue Resolution: Address sales tax inquiries and investigate discrepancies or concerns as they arise.
  • Audit Support: Assist in sales tax audits by preparing relevant data, gathering supporting documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Clerical Assistance: Provide administrative support to the Tax Department, including processing tax forms and notifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely tax payments, including managing check requests and online transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in computer skills and accounting systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or relevant professional experience is preferred.
