Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting environmental compliance reviews of electric utility transmission, distribution, and substation construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor environmental performance of internal operations and coordinate with external agencies.
  • Oversee work of external environmental consultants and ensure contract requirements are completed timely and accurately.
  • Collect and analyze data for environmental aspects of projects.
  • Identify and apply for necessary environmental permits for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines, permits, and regulations.
  • Develop or update policy and processes to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Analyze and make recommendations to management.
  • Work as a liaison between regulatory agencies and other company departments.
  • Deliver training and provide guidance to operations staff and management.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and track budgets for assigned environmental work.
  • Support company safety initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or Environmental Sciences or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in environmental or regulatory matters.
  • Knowledge and understanding of environmental issues and company business processes.
  • Data gathering, analysis, and interpretation skills.
  • Writing skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local governmental environmental laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with personal computers and software applications.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization and prioritize workload under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting.
  • Knowledge of natural resource issues related to the energy industry.
  • GIS skills.
