Public Affairs Internship

We are seeking a Public Affairs Intern to join our Washington D.C.-based communications team at Farm Credit Council. This role will provide hands-on experience in public affairs, digital media, and reputation management within the finance and agriculture industry.
The successful candidate will have a proactive attitude, collaborative mindset, and experience using social media platforms, video editing, and digital content creation using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
This is a paid internship at $20/hour, with an expectation of working approximately 40 hours per week from May to August 2025. The Farm Credit Council operates on a hybrid schedule of remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
Any student or recent graduate of a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) selected to intern would receive an additional $3,500 stipend as part of Farm Credit's Launching Leaders program.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in developing social media content across platforms.
- Create short-form videos for social media using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create engaging content that reflects the Farm Credit mission and brand.
- Monitor social media accounts of Farm Credit associations and other key audiences.
- Update campaign pages and customer stories on the website.
- Develop monthly editorial calendars to support communications and legislative priorities.
- Track social media analytics to identify high-performing campaigns and trends.
- Participate in events and other opportunities as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using social media platforms, video editing, and digital content creation.
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate coursework.
- Legally authorized to perform work in the U.S.
- Engages professionally and politely with board of directors, members, constituents.
- Supports the core values and mission of the organization.
