Job Overview

Position Summary:
Halpin Staffing Services is seeking a dedicated Logistics and Material Handling Specialist. This role involves the efficient handling, loading, and unloading of materials and components to specified locations within the facility. The ideal candidate will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workspace while adhering to all safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.

• Manage the transportation of materials from storage areas to designated locations.

• Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders, accurately documenting materials using the appropriate scanning technology.

• Load materials onto various types of trailers, ensuring safe and secure transport.

• Support the preparation of equipment and parts for shipping, including banding and palletizing.

• Maintain an organized inventory and yard space.

• Participate in facility maintenance tasks, including landscaping and general upkeep.

• Aid in the loading and unloading processes within specialized areas such as blast and paint rooms.

• Conduct weekly safety assessments as part of routine operations.

• Prepare kits of parts for assembly as required.

• Provide assistance to maintenance staff as needed.

• Complete daily inspections for mobile equipment and submit reports.

• Assist in various shop tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Capability to operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment (training provided).

• Ability to climb onto and off of trailers while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational instructions, and packaging protocols.

• Physical ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Basic literacy skills are required.

Work Environment:

This position involves a combination of standing, sitting, lifting, bending, reaching, walking, and twisting. Candidates must be prepared to work in outdoor conditions year-round.

Compensation and Benefits:
