Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nursing Assistant Instructor at Avamere Health Services. As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for providing classroom and clinical education to our Nursing Assistant Level 1 Program.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the required Board-approved curriculum for the Nursing Assistant Level 1 Program.
  • Supervise and be present in the classroom at least 75% of the time that classes are being taught.
  • Provide effective teaching strategies in an environment that encourages student and instructor interaction.
  • Accurately record students' daily attendance and evaluate their competency.
  • Maintain the classroom in good physical order and manage program supplies.
  • Delegate classroom, laboratory, and clinical teaching responsibilities to a Delegated Instructor and/or a clinical teaching associate if directed to do so by the NA Program Director.
  • Hold a current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
  • Have two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse and teaching experience or educational preparation for teaching adults.
Qualifications
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a Skilled Nursing or Long Term Care setting.
  • Training course on adult instruction or demonstrated experience teaching adults.
  • Sufficient ability to move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings.
  • Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate the curriculum.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to use current technology to maintain student records.
