Job Overview

Mercy Flights is seeking qualified candidates for a Full-Time Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Paramedic position.

The MIH Paramedic operates within a collaborative healthcare team, delivering both proactive and post-discharge services. This role is pivotal in ensuring continuity of care within the home environment, conducting patient evaluations, and performing clinical and social assessments. Responsibilities include executing clinical interventions, providing patient education, and engaging in community outreach. The MIH Paramedic must be adept at working autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care in non-traditional settings. Successful performance of this role requires meeting all core responsibilities and adhering to the performance standards set by Mercy Flights.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, twelve (12) hour shifts (Monday to Friday)
  • Overtime available if shifts exceed 12 hours
  • Shift rotations may include scheduled overtime

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with clinical guidelines, policies, protocols, and established standards.
  • Maintain detailed electronic client records, including notes, consent forms, assessments, and other medical documentation.
  • Complete patient care documentation promptly in compliance with state laws and company protocols.
  • Participate in all required training and educational sessions as assigned (initial and ongoing).
  • Foster and sustain positive relationships with clients, allied health professionals, case managers, agency representatives, supervisors, and office personnel from diverse backgrounds to ensure quality patient care.
  • Engage with patients, families, team members, and community partners in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Utilize technology effectively for comprehensive patient assessments, including clinical interventions, telehealth consultations, and data collection related to MIH.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in Paramedicine or equivalent education and experience necessary for obtaining an Oregon Paramedic license. A bachelor's degree in health, human services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years as a Paramedic in a 911 transport setting or equivalent community health experience. Previous critical care training or instructor experience is advantageous. A background in behavioral or mental health is preferred.
  • Certifications or Licenses:
  • Oregon Paramedic License.
  • Nationally Registered Paramedic certification. If not certified, proof of continuing education aligned with Nationally Registered Paramedic standards is required at recertification.
  • Oregon Driver's License.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications. Must obtain within eighteen (18) months of starting the position.
  • Instructor Certification in ACLS, PEPP, or related Pediatric course: ITLS or PHTLS, AMLS preferred.
  • Community Health Worker (CHW) certification required within twelve (12) months of starting the position.
  • Community Paramedic (CP) certification through IBSC is preferred.
