Nursing Assistant Program Educator

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Daytime Hours

This role involves delivering both theoretical and practical training for the Nursing Assistant Level 1 Program. The primary educator is tasked with the recruitment, assessment, and organization of students within each training group. Each group comprises 96 hours of theoretical instruction and 75 hours of hands-on clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the educational environment, including classroom and clinical settings.
  • Implement the approved curriculum mandated by the governing board.
  • Maintain a presence in the classroom for a minimum of 75% of instructional time.
  • Be available on-site throughout all clinical teaching periods.
  • Utilize effective teaching methodologies that foster engagement between students and instructors.
  • Accurately track and document student attendance.
  • Enforce student conduct guidelines.
  • Assess and validate student competencies.
  • Ensure the educational space is well-maintained and manage program resources effectively.
  • Commence and conclude classes punctually, adhering to scheduled breaks.
  • May assign teaching duties to designated instructors or clinical associates as directed.
  • Possess a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.
  • Have a minimum of two years of nursing experience and prior teaching experience or qualifications for adult education.
  • Complete the required training course for instructing nursing assistants.
  • Demonstrate the physical capability to navigate the educational environment to support student needs.
  • Deliver course content utilizing modern educational strategies.
  • Engage in the planning and assessment of curriculum segments.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in the state.
  • At least two years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment.
  • Completion of a course on adult education or equivalent teaching experience.
  • Experience must not include in-service training or patient education.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both group and individual settings.
  • Familiarity with the subjects to be taught and proficiency in curriculum delivery.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficient in using technology for maintaining student records.
  • Commitment to professional conduct and appearance as a representative of the organization.
  • Ability to treat all students fairly and maintain objectivity.
  • Attention to detail and dedication to high-quality education.
