Job Summary

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a series of events at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the public, excellent customer service skills, and experience in event planning and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate events, including annual and recurring events, using creative and out-of-the-box thinking to tailor events to changing audience and trends.
  • Create budgets for events, indicating income and expenses, and identify potential funding sources for sponsorships and donations.
  • Collaborate with community organizations for educational events and programs, volunteer support, and exhibit needs.
  • Collaborate with the Public Relations Specialist to promote and market Museum events and community outreach projects.
  • Support the Friends group by collaborating in planning and executing Friends-Museum joint events.
  • Plan and execute bi-annual volunteer appreciation activities or events.
  • Conduct outreach activities at promotional events statewide in support of the museum as needed.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting, and two years of directly related job experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, and/or contract management.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with sitting and extensive use of computer and telephone, occasional after-hours and weekends presence required on-site at events, outreach, and in-state travel.

Employment Requirements

Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
