Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for administering the document lifecycle for engineering and construction documents, defining standards and workflows for document management, and leading the collection, authoring, publication, storage, and retrieval of documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the collection, authorization, publication, storage, retrieval, and retention of documents to ensure control and availability of documentation to site personnel.
  • Develop and implement document controls strategies, systems, and policies and procedures, including authoring, approval, publishing, version control, and archiving of all project or program-related documents.
  • Maintain electronic project record files, copying and scanning documents as needed to perform distribution and storage duties.
  • Prepare records for inactive storage according to the Records Retention Schedule.
  • Support regular audits of document control processes and procedures.
  • May assist in providing training to project personnel regarding document control and record retention policies, procedures, and project management system use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with transportation or highway work.
