As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and registering patients into our computer system. You will also be responsible for verifying insurance information, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
Check-in patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and update medical records
Register new patients into our computer system and verify addresses, telephone numbers, and insurance information
Answer telephone calls, screen calls, take messages, and convey information to appropriate parties
Maintain a neat and orderly work area and reception area
Advise Practice Manager of problems and concerns in the front office and assist in problem-solving
Attend educational and staff meetings as scheduled
Requirements:
High school education or equivalent
Previous experience in a front office setting, preferably with medical management software
Strong communication skills, with consistent incorporation of judgment and discretion
Working knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred
Ability to work with other staff members to foster a team approach to the highest quality of patient care and staff cooperation
