Director of Nursing Leadership

We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Nursing to lead our nursing program at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of all nursing activities, ensuring the program's continued success and accreditation.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Management
- Develop and implement program goals, objectives, and policies in alignment with the institution's strategic plan.
- Manage program budgets, resources, and personnel to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to ensure program quality and student success.
- Academic Leadership
- Provide academic leadership and guidance to faculty, including curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for program accreditation, licensure, and certification.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Student Services and Support
- Provide guidance and support to students, including academic advising, career counseling, and student success initiatives.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance student engagement, retention, and graduation rates.
- Collaborate with student services departments to ensure seamless support for students.
- Community and Clinical Partnerships
- Develop and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations, community agencies, and clinical sites to provide students with experiential learning opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with clinical site agreements, contracts, and policies.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement clinical education programs.
- Faculty and Staff Development
- Provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff, including professional development, mentoring, and coaching.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance faculty and staff engagement, retention, and job satisfaction.
- Collaborate with human resources to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Develop and implement assessment and evaluation plans to measure program effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data to inform program improvement and decision-making.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement strategies to improve program quality and student success.
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Two years of experience as a practicing nurse
- Two years of leadership experience
- Valid Illinois and Indiana Nursing License
- Working knowledge of an Associate Degree Nursing Program/Philosophy
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills necessary to interface with students and the general public
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and their common instructional applications
- Excellent analytical skills
- Compliance with ACEN standards and competencies
- One year program leadership in nursing
- Knowledge/experience in medical/surgical clinical settings
