Admission Nurse Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Admission Nurse to join our team at ECHN. As an Admission Nurse, you will play a critical role in coordinating admissions and bed control activity, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review clinical information from outside referral sources to determine appropriateness of possible admission and coordinate unit placement and/or level of care.
  • Initiate the nursing admission assessment and complete documentation for the nursing admission process.
  • Coordinate with staff RNs to ensure timely completion of admissions and provide support as needed.
  • Promote quality improvement initiatives related to patient throughput, nursing, and patient staff satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Certification highly desirable.
  • Five (5) years of RN experience required.
  • Six (6) months of experience at ECHN in the role of an RN highly preferred.
Competencies
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, necessary.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. The Admission Nurse will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and promote quality improvement initiatives.
