Senior Commercial Banking Officer

The Senior Commercial Banking Officer is accountable for devising business development strategies and executing sales initiatives aimed at securing new commercial accounts within the designated market area. This role involves making sales calls and visiting business clients, high net worth individuals, and potential prospects to assess their needs, tailoring solutions that align with their financial goals while fulfilling loan, deposit, and service requirements. The Senior Commercial Banking Officer is tasked with achieving deposit and loan growth targets, managing a diverse and intricate customer portfolio, and navigating the market landscape. Collaboration with various bank divisions, including Treasury Management, Wealth Management, and Consumer Banking, as well as internal support teams, is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the quality, profitability, and expansion of business and consumer offerings through strategic pricing and fee structures.
- Employs effective sales methodologies to attract, develop, and maintain customer relationships.
- Utilizes need-based sales techniques to enhance customer engagement by identifying suitable products and services.
- Establishes business development strategies for the assigned market; identifies opportunities and conducts sales outreach to current clients and prospects.
- Conducts thorough analysis of customer and prospect financials to evaluate viability.
- Reviews loan applications, tax returns, income statements, bank statements, and other pertinent data to ascertain actual cash flow and perform ongoing credit assessments within policy parameters.
- Identifies and structures substantial, intricate loan and deposit opportunities that optimize credit quality and profitability.
- Coordinates portfolio management activities in collaboration with a team that may include Credit Analysts and Commercial Banking Assistants.
- Applies a high level of business insight and risk management expertise to evaluate the feasibility of loan and deposit opportunities.
- Prepares and presents accurate, comprehensive, and relevant information to the Loan Committee for loan approvals.
- Oversees ongoing quality assurance for a portfolio by ensuring proper documentation, compliance, and collection practices.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotions.
- Accountable for achieving market objectives as defined by bank leadership.
- Utilizes Customer Relationship Management systems to monitor sales activities and prospects.
- Ensures adherence to internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies.
- Represents the bank in business development initiatives and at networking and community events.
- Fosters partnerships and collaborates with other business lines to achieve shared goals and enhance customer service.
- Ensures compliance with AML/BSA regulations, audit protocols, dual control, security measures, Business Continuity, and all other banking requirements.
- Adheres to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or 6 years of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of ten years of demonstrated success in Commercial Banking.
- Proficient in market analysis, prospect identification, and the development and execution of consultative, value-added sales strategies.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed established performance targets.
- Demonstrated success in building relationships with business, civic, and governmental entities.
- Established presence within the local community, with a strong reputation and following.
- Flexibility in work hours to accommodate client needs.
