Requirements: Proficiency with Epic Radiant, ARRT MRI certified, NYS DOH Radiography license to inject, AHA BLS

Position Overview:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of clinical, technical, and administrative tasks associated with magnetic resonance imaging. Key responsibilities include:
1. Executing MRI imaging procedures with precision and care.
2. Operating specialized imaging equipment to ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
3. Preparing and positioning patients to facilitate effective imaging.
4. Applying technical judgment to achieve diagnostic quality studies in accordance with established protocols and patient needs.
5. Educating patients about the imaging process, including specific instructions and the nature of the procedure.
6. Reviewing safety questionnaires and adhering to MRI safety protocols prior to patient scans.
7. Ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
8. Assisting in the administration of contrast media and maintaining aseptic techniques.
9. Accurately labeling images as per departmental standards.
10. Collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
11. Evaluating radiographs for technical quality and ensuring timely transmission to PACS.
12. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the imaging room and equipment.
13. Keeping inventory of supplies necessary for imaging procedures.
14. Recording patient tracking information accurately in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
15. Scheduling exams and ensuring timely completion of studies in IDX.
16. Reporting equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
17. Following infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infection.
18. Participating in professional development and in-service training as required.
19. Maintaining licensure and adhering to relevant public health regulations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology
- New York State License (L.R.T.) and NY State IV Certification
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification (MRI certified) and BLS certification
