Job Summary

Rockbridge Area Health Center is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support our healthcare providers and deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality, comprehensive care by returning patient calls and completing provider orders.
  • Schedule referral and/or specialist appointments, authorize and schedule diagnostic testing, and perform phlebotomy and/or finger sticks.
  • Complete laboratory forms and perform other point-of-care tests such as a urinalysis, strep test, EKG, vision screening, pulse oximetry, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Improvement team to track the implementation of best practices and achievement of quality measures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Certification or as a Medical Assistant (CMA) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification with hands on practicum is required at the time of hire.
  • Phlebotomy experience/training is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is preferred.
