About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Associate to join our team in the College of Communication and Information at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that will provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Advising.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the front office and provide a welcoming environment for students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including 1500+ active student records each semester.
  • Process major and advisor changes, credit overloads, and student permits in Internet Native Banner.
  • Enter curricula exceptions into DARS for students in CCI and other academic units.
  • Assist with the review of degree audit reports for candidates for graduation.
  • Liaise with the registrar's office and compile reports and analyze data.
  • Coordinate the student distribution of exit surveys for graduating undergraduate students.
  • Direct in-person student traffic and answer the main phone line.
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean and Associate Director.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience working in an office environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of students and coworkers.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize task completion in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working with students in higher education.
  • Knowledge of Native Internet Banner, Self-Service Banner, Navigate or Salesforce, and ARGOS.
  • Knowledge of undergraduate advising processes.
