About the Role:
MKS Instruments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laser Service Engineer to join our team. As a Laser Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing ultra-fast laser systems, electronics, and packaging machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain ultra-fast laser systems, electronics, and packaging machines
- Provide technical support to customers, sales, and application teams
- Answer technical questions from customers regarding system repairs and applications
- Perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems manufactured by our ESB division
- Stay current with the latest upgrades and training of new products and software
- Maintain historical performance and repair information
- Log and create field service reports
Requirements:
- Minimum B.S. in Photonics or related fields with 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with diode pump amplifier systems is a must
- Opto-mechanical and automated manufacturing systems experience is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with new electrical, mechanical, and laser systems
- Excellent communication skills are a must
- High degree of proficiency in PC skills, including MS Office, SAP, and data analysis applications
