Job Title: Service Technician

Location: Andover, MA (Service Technicians work within a 1-hour radius from the office)

Employment Type: Full-Time/Permanent

Salary: $62,400 - $83,200

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic electronics, wiring circuits, and troubleshooting methods, as well as proficiency with testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs, inspections, and programming on basic to high-complexity security systems.
  • Conduct routine scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and general break/fix calls.
  • Handle light installations for small system modifications, removals, and system testing to ensure compliance and functionality.
  • Update internal documentation by marking up as-built drawings, system documentation, and device schedules.
  • Assist with IT coordination, system commissioning, and final documentation.
  • Communicate job status and project issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure safe and responsible work practices, including tracking truck stock materials and cleaning work areas.
  • Perform service duties at remote job locations, including overnight stays if necessary.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
  • Driver's License: Valid state-issued license.
  • Experience: 1-5 years of industry experience.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work independently or in a field crew.
    • Strong attention to safety best practices, particularly when using ladders and aerial lifts.
    • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
    • Experience troubleshooting hardware such as Mercury, Andover Controls, Genetec, Amag, and Axis cameras (preferred).
    • Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and understand installation methods and best practices.
    • Proficiency with field test equipment, including multimeters, cable testers, fiber kits, and similar tools.
    • Understanding of IP networks, network troubleshooting, building codes, and NEC (National Electrical Code).
    • Basic office software skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, squat, bend, and pull up to 50 lbs.
