Job Summary:

The MetroHealth System is seeking a skilled Patient Care Nursing Assistant to join our team at the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute. As a Patient Care Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-centered care to our patients with stroke and other complex conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating, and drinking
  • Take vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed
  • Perform and transmit basic ECG and phlebotomy

Working with Our Team:

You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team, including RNs, LPNs, Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, and Dieticians.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry
  • 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital
