Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to become a vital part of our dynamic team at Myers CPA Group, PC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage the preparation and submission of various tax returns.
  • Data Entry: Input accounting-related data into relevant accounting software.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize QuickBooks (both desktop and online), Accounting CS, UltraTax, and other accounting software effectively.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation.
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters products is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a quick learner of new software.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to assist colleagues and seek guidance when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the monthly preparation of financial statements and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare financial reports for clients.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify advisory opportunities that may benefit clients.
  • Perform additional accounting duties as required.
