Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Construction Manager to join our team at Delco Development, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the construction team in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the construction team in coordinating and supervising construction activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Ensure that subcontractors and vendors are on-site as scheduled and complete assigned work.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to on-site staff, promoting positive project morale and effective working relationships.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of project schedules, and work with the Project Manager to keep schedules properly updated.
  • Examine contract drawings, specifications, and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details, and possible code violations, and bring these to the attention of the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate, direct, monitor, and inspect the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and Delco's labor and material.
  • Verify that each subcontractor has completed their contractual requirements, including a Certificate of Insurance, a fully executed subcontract, a schedule of values, and a safety program.
  • Maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the project, including the public.
  • Review all slips to ensure shipments are completed and maintain slips for the Project Manager.
  • Create written daily logs of construction project progress by performing site inspections.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by overseeing project safety awareness.

Requirements:

  • Experience with the construction industry and working knowledge of construction budgets and scheduling strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and have an understanding of construction project cost analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong time-management skills, ability to meet imposed deadlines, and the ability to work flexible hours.
  • Valid Driver's License, Clean Driving Record, and Car Insurance in good standing required for this position.
