As a Principal HR Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in understanding the strategic objectives of the organization and proactively implementing people-centric strategies to support these goals. Collaborating closely with People Operations and Centers of Excellence (COEs), this position will work alongside senior leadership to provide strategic guidance and foster a positive workplace culture. Utilizing data-driven insights and our Employee Value Proposition, your focus will be on enhancing employee retention and development while driving organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and execute HR strategies that align with the organization's vision over a 1-2 year timeframe.
  • Design and implement initiatives to optimize HR effectiveness.
  • Influence employee behavior to uphold essential safety and HR principles.
  • Identify and address patterns that may pose risks in Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance.
  • Advocate for Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) initiatives.
  • Establish networks among team members to facilitate feedback for addressing adverse business conditions.
  • Recognize behavioral trends that could lead to employee dissatisfaction and develop strategies to mitigate these issues.
  • Provide coaching to senior leadership (Directors to SVPs) to enhance decision-making and performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with COEs and People Operations to refine the onboarding and orientation processes for new hires.
  • Work with leadership to shape workforce strategies with a long-term perspective, partnering with COEs and People Operations for effective execution.
  • Manage employee grievances and work closely with Labor Relations COE to identify and communicate potential contractual violations.
  • Oversee talent evaluation and development processes.
  • Partner with Workforce Analytics to ensure that people strategies are informed by comprehensive data and insights.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of programs and policies against return on investment (ROI) targets, adjusting as necessary based on employee experience and business needs.
  • Collaborate with HR COEs to create innovative programs that prepare the workforce for future challenges while addressing current business requirements.
  • Support the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and talent enablement process improvements by identifying and prioritizing opportunities and contributing to potential solutions.
  • Drive process excellence and employee engagement by analyzing industry trends and insights.
  • Encourage innovation and engage with HR peers to explore methods for sustaining and enhancing organizational capabilities.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of higher education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including management of grievances and collaboration with Labor Relations COE. Previous HR management experience in the food production industry is preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in standard computer applications with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate recommendations and influence a diverse range of stakeholders. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Special Skills: In-depth knowledge of HR strategy execution and the ability to implement initiatives at various organizational levels; strong analytical skills to enhance efficiencies; and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Direct Reports: Yes.
  • Variable Compensation: Participation in an Annual Incentive Program, offering up to 10% of annual salary based on performance.
