The Culinary Supervisor is tasked with the preparation and cooking of meals utilizing standardized recipes and production protocols while adhering to food safety, handling, and sanitation standards.
This role requires the safe operation of kitchen tools and equipment, including grills, fryers, ovens, and broilers. The Culinary Supervisor may oversee staff and assign duties as necessary. Responsibilities may differ based on client needs and operational requirements.
COMPENSATION:
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $27.00 to $30.00, influenced by factors such as the applicant's skills, qualifications, relevant degrees and certifications, prior experience, market data, and other pertinent considerations.
Additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions where applicable.
This reflects Aramark's good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position at the time of posting.
Upon hiring, the employee will be in an "at-will position," and Aramark retains the right to adjust base salary and any other discretionary payments or compensation programs at any time and for any reason, including individual performance, departmental performance, and market conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assigns and schedules daily tasks for staff, ensuring timely completion.
- Trains and mentors staff on job responsibilities, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Prepares and cooks meals according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
- Prepares workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Measures, weighs, mixes, chops, trims, and peels food items as required.
- Safely utilizes kitchen utensils, including knives.
- Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
- Employs various cooking techniques including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming.
- Presents, garnishes, and portions food in accordance with established standards.
- Ensures proper food storage in compliance with safety policies.
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Maintains excellent customer service with a positive demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
- Adheres to Aramark's safety policies and food safety regulations.
- Secures company assets effectively.
- Creates and maintains work schedules and may compile production records.

Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience as a cook or in a related position is required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
- Food safety certification is mandatory.
- Basic math and counting skills are necessary.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing.
Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
