Position Summary: The role of the Facilities Security Officer (FSO) is essential and is contingent upon the successful award of work to IERUS. The FSO will operate with minimal supervision, overseeing security programs and protocols for classified and proprietary materials, documents, and equipment within designated areas. This position requires the FSO to formulate plans, manage projects, and establish schedules to achieve project objectives.

The FSO will utilize extensive knowledge of U.S. Government Industrial Security Programs (NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117) to address a variety of inquiries and complex issues, ensuring compliance with established policies and practices for safeguarding National Security Information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage security programs, ensuring adherence to federal regulations and IERUS policies.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to employees, supervisors, and contractors regarding compliance with classified security protocols.
  • Coordinate with government agencies and external stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and interpretations for compliance.
  • Develop and implement security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans.
  • Oversee the management of classified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and proprietary materials.
  • Conduct investigations into security violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and manage the flow of classified documentation.
  • Prepare and submit personnel security clearance requests and manage access control systems.
  • Conduct program indoctrination and debriefings, ensuring all personnel are informed of security protocols.
  • Collaborate with external customers and stakeholders during the accreditation process for new facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in classified security within a corporate or government setting.
  • Active Top Secret DoD Security Clearance preferred; Secret clearance at a minimum.
  • Strong understanding of DOD processes and the National Industrial Security Program.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Completion of the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities IS030.CU is required.
