Position Summary: The Facility Security Officer (FSO) plays a critical role in overseeing security protocols and procedures for classified and proprietary materials within designated areas. This position requires minimal supervision and is tasked with formulating plans and schedules to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage security programs ensuring compliance with federal regulations and internal policies.
- Respond to complex inquiries and resolve diverse security challenges utilizing extensive knowledge of U.S. Government Industrial Security Programs.
- Provide guidance and leadership to employees and contractors regarding compliance with classified security protocols.
- Coordinate security activities with Program Management and external agencies to maintain operational integrity.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans to safeguard sensitive information.
- Conduct investigations into security violations and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and manage the flow of classified documentation.
- Prepare and submit personnel security access requests and oversee visitor control procedures.
- Manage access control systems and ensure compliance with National Policy.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders during the accreditation process for security facilities.
Qualifications:
Candidates typically require a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, along with ten or more years of professional experience in classified security within corporate or governmental environments. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) processes and military training is advantageous. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD Security Clearance, along with necessary accesses.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience in managing record systems and familiarity with security management practices is preferred.
Salary Range: $89,180 - $155,825
