Building and Land Technology (BLT) is looking for a Residential Accounting Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This position will be based in Stamford, CT, and is essential for managing the daily accounting tasks associated with BLT's diverse portfolio of residential properties. The Residential Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Residential Controller.

Key Responsibilities of the Residential Accounting Specialist
- Generate financial reports and analyses for various BLT residential properties.
- Maintain comprehensive monthly work papers.
- Prepare necessary documentation and analyses for the annual audit process.
- Assist in the preparation of work papers for income tax and sales tax submissions.
- Support the annual budgeting process.
- Collaborate with operations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable teams as needed.
- Record monthly journal entries accurately.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.

Qualifications for the Residential Accounting Specialist
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience is essential, with at least 1 year in real estate accounting preferred.
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Familiarity with real estate accounting software is a plus.
