ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The Petroleum Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the transportation and delivery of fuel products, ensuring that distribution is executed efficiently and punctually. This position demands exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication capabilities to oversee logistics operations while adhering to safety regulations. Additional tasks may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This role operates on a rotating schedule of 4 days on followed by 4 days off, which may include on-call responsibilities requiring availability during nights and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. **Scheduling and Dispatching:**

Organize and dispatch fuel transport vehicles according to customer requests, delivery timelines, and route optimization.

Collaborate with drivers to ensure prompt deliveries and pickups.

2. **Logistics Coordination:**

Design and enhance delivery routes to reduce costs and boost efficiency.

Utilize GPS and tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations and statuses.

Adapt schedules and routes based on traffic, weather, and other influencing factors.

3. **Effective Communication:**

Maintain open lines of communication with drivers, clients, and other relevant parties.

Provide drivers with comprehensive instructions regarding delivery sites, safety protocols, and special requirements.

4. **Documentation and Reporting:**

Keep precise records of deliveries, fuel usage, and other pertinent information.

5. **Customer Relations:**

Respond to customer inquiries, issues, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by adhering to delivery schedules and resolving any problems swiftly.

6. **Safety and Compliance:**

Guarantee that all transportation activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including safety and environmental standards.

Provide training and support to drivers on safety measures and procedures.

7. **Inventory Oversight:**

Monitor fuel product inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure sufficient stock.

Maintain accurate records of product quantities and delivery confirmations.

8. **Problem Resolution:**

Quickly identify and address any transportation-related issues, such as vehicle malfunctions, delays, or route modifications.

Implement contingency strategies to manage unexpected disruptions in delivery schedules.
