Job Title: Reimbursement Analyst I

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Reimbursement Analyst I to join our team at the Health and Human Services Commission. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the payment rate development process for School Health and Related Services, including designing cost surveys and instructions, conducting complex data analysis, and developing and presenting cost report training. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and human service programs, services, and procedures, as well as knowledge of accounting, business, and management principles.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement payment rate methodologies and payment rates for School Health and Related Services.
2. Conduct complex data analysis to determine and evaluate payment rates.
3. Develop and present cost report training to contracted providers, cost report preparers, and auditors.
4. Provide technical assistance to providers, cost report preparers, and auditors.
5. Develop and maintain complex computer programs, spreadsheets, and large databases used in payment rate and cost reporting analysis.
6. Develop policy guidelines, agency rules, state plan amendments, and other associated documents relating to cost reporting and payment rate determination.
7. Communicate complex information to internal and external parties to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve problems or complaints.
8. Work with providers and HHSC legal on informal and formal appeals resulting from cost report disallowances.

Requirements:
1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in social science, business, including accounting and statistics, economics, health-related field, political science, or other closely related field.
2. Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
3. Experience of Medicaid and/or healthcare finance preferred.

Working Conditions:
This position is located in Austin, Texas, and requires regular attendance at work. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
