Project Controls Specialist

Location: Hybrid

Position Overview:

This role is pivotal in overseeing all project controls functions, encompassing schedule oversight, risk assessment, earned value analysis, cost management, change management, document oversight, and contract procurement management for intricate, high-stakes, large-scale projects. The individual in this position acts as the representative for project controls management, ensuring the success of the Project Team. A comprehensive understanding of project management principles and practices is essential. Leadership of the Project Controls team may be required as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the implementation of project management systems for tracking, forecasting, analyzing, and reporting on project costs, schedules, and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinates and analyzes project expenditures, commitments, accruals, trends, and modifications, advising the Project Team on necessary corrective actions.
  • Oversees the administration of the Project Controls Process, providing guidance and specialized support to project managers in resolving complex project control challenges and contractual issues.
  • Implements Document Management procedures and ensures proper documentation for the Project Team.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and monitors risks and opportunities within the project management landscape, including planning for risk mitigation and executing risk management processes.
  • Manages the Contracts and Procurement systems, including Client Contract Administration, invoicing, purchase order issuance, subcontract agreements, subcontractor payment distributions, and project accounts payables.
  • May lead the project cost control team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Experience with Prism G2 package and Risk Management Processes is required.

Qualifications:

The qualifications listed below are essential for performing this role:

A. Education and Experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is required, or a High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in Project Controls, Document Controls, and Project Procurement is required.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • No specific certifications are required.

C. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft software and automated accounting and cost management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Scheduling, Earned Value Management, and Estimating concepts.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a blend of office and field environments, regularly utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines.
