Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Property Claims Specialist, you will utilize your expertise to manage claims related to accidental and weather-related damages for residential and commercial properties.
Your role will involve direct interaction with clients, explaining coverage details, estimating damages, and guiding them through the claims process while delivering exceptional service.
Work Environment:
This position requires servicing various zip codes and involves a combination of fieldwork and potential virtual responsibilities.
Primary Duties:
- Conduct thorough on-site evaluations of property damages for both residential and commercial claims.
- Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to efficiently resolve claims.
- Provide outstanding customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Document findings and prepare detailed reports to support the claims process.
- Investigate and adjust property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
- Assess coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits, adhering to policy provisions and company guidelines.
- Flexibility in work hours may be required based on business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience in property claims handling within the insurance sector.
- Strong understanding of property insurance policies and claims practices.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial construction.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in claims management software and relevant tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and navigating various inspection environments.
- A valid driver's license is necessary.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with complex or high-value claims.
- Background in construction.
- Familiarity with water mitigation inspections.
- Knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents software.
