PROGRAM STRUCTURE: Roads to Success (RTS) offers a range of youth initiatives, including after-school programs, summer camps, retreats, conferences, and summer job opportunities, impacting thousands of young people across NYC annually. RTS integrates the youth development philosophy of the Circle of Courage into all our initiatives, fostering an atmosphere of Belonging where youth can cultivate their Independence, enhance their Mastery skills, and practice Generosity within their communities. Central to our programs are training strategies that empower our young professionals to forge deeply meaningful connections with the youth in their care, whom we refer to as Our Future Leaders.

PRIMARY ROLE: The worksite monitors play a crucial role in overseeing and documenting the internship activities of participants during the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

Supervisor: Program Director

Supervises: Participants aged 16-24

Hours: 20 hours per week from March to June; 35 hours per week from July to August

Compensation: $23 - $25 per hour, commensurate with experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the collection of program-required documentation at designated worksites.
  • Prioritize tasks to achieve weekly objectives.
  • Demonstrate a solid background in customer service.
  • Travel across the five boroughs for site evaluations.
  • Submit comprehensive Monitoring logs weekly in YEPS.
  • Gather timesheets weekly and ensure their accuracy.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with assigned worksite supervisors.
  • Communicate with the Program Director regarding any worksite assignment issues.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings, training sessions, and supervision as necessary.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to maintain precise records.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Professional interaction with participants, staff, clients, and community partners.
  • Collaborative work ethic with team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Professional conduct in alignment with RTS policies regarding behavior and appearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe software.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in benefits administration, social services, or a similar field.
  • Thorough understanding of public benefit programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting systems.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and support.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is conducted in one or more educational facilities, which may involve climbing stairs.
  • Standard working hours are 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Travel via public transportation or personal vehicle may be necessary throughout NYC.
