Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Construction Cost Analyst to accurately assess the financial requirements of various construction projects, both industrial and residential. The primary responsibilities of the analyst include estimating project durations, researching current market rates for materials and equipment, and engaging with clients to clarify project scopes.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of building regulations. A successful Construction Cost Analyst should excel in interpreting architectural plans and exhibit exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quantity Takeoff: Analyze blueprints to ascertain wire lengths and calculate the necessary materials and their costs for each project.
  • Labor Assessment: Evaluate the labor requirements essential for the completion of each project.
  • Vendor Coordination: Gather pricing information from vendors and subcontractors for bid submissions.
  • Request for Information (RFI): Manage RFI submissions during the bidding phase.
  • Bid Bonds: Secure bid bonds when necessary.
  • Bid Documentation: Complete bid forms and breakdowns accurately.
  • MWBE Documentation: Prepare necessary documents for MWBE bids.
  • Change Order Support: Assist project managers with pricing for change orders.
  • Value Engineering: Engage in value engineering discussions to optimize project costs.
  • Profitability Analysis: Assess potential project profitability to aid management in making informed bidding decisions.
  • Cost Solutions: Provide actionable solutions to enhance project profitability.
  • Competitive Bidding: Prepare and submit competitive bids following established protocols.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Review and assess vendors and subcontractors.
  • Cost Database Management: Regularly update cost databases to reflect changes in material and labor expenses.
  • Construction Feasibility: Evaluate whether it is more advantageous to construct components in-house or subcontract their construction.
  • Post-Project Review: Conduct reviews after project completion to identify areas for improvement.
  • Professional Networking: Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts.
  • Design Collaboration: Participate in Design Build and Design Assist processes.
  • Project Handoff: Transition bids to project management teams.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize Plan Swift Software effectively.
  • Office Software Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Product Suite.
