POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Director for a leading engineering contractor. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the Proposal process and, contingent upon contract award, will transition into a temporary-to-permanent position.

Work Environment: Remote during the Proposal phase.

Onsite Location: To be determined based on project award.

Relocation Assistance: Available for candidates who are not local, with a maximum allowance.

Eligibility: US Citizenship or Green Card/Perm Resident is required.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Director will be responsible for overseeing the local Project Management Operations, ensuring that all project phases are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary representative for the company with clients and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing and monitoring project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with client objectives.
  • Supporting the Program Manager in risk management and project control implementation.
  • Facilitating regular project status meetings and providing expert guidance on project management practices.
  • Overseeing all site operations, including planning, directing, and supervising all project functions.
  • Executing project plans effectively by leveraging the strengths of team members.
  • Establishing essential project documentation, including the Project Execution Plan and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan.
  • Collaborating with project engineers and discipline leads to develop comprehensive budgets and schedules.
  • Addressing potential cost overruns or delays through proactive action plans.
  • Monitoring project progress and reporting on significant milestones and conditions affecting cost or schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, along with 20+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive project and construction management experience on large-scale projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
  • Professional registration is highly desirable.

Additional Skills:

Candidates must meet project management certification requirements or possess an equivalent industry-recognized certification. A proven track record in management roles, along with a thorough understanding of industry practices and regulations, is essential. Familiarity with current technologies and their application in project management is also required.
