Position Overview: The Automotive Parts Supervisor is tasked with overseeing a profitable and efficient parts department. This role is pivotal in achieving departmental objectives through effective purchasing strategies, inventory management, staff deployment, pricing, merchandising, and promotional activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set and pursue departmental goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the availability of parts and accessories for resale.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork across all departments.
  • Coordinate with the Service Manager to guarantee timely parts availability for Warranty and Customer Pay jobs.
  • Develop and uphold purchasing policies, including purchase orders and inventory guidelines.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating budget for the parts department.
  • Stay informed about and comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales.
  • Implement training and development programs to motivate department staff.
  • Direct and schedule the activities of all parts department personnel.
  • Provide technical support to parts department staff.
  • Monitor payroll records for parts department employees.
  • Establish and enforce customer service guidelines to maximize satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement a pricing strategy that balances volume, customer loyalty, and operational costs.
  • Oversee inventory management to minimize obsolescence.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Parts Manager in an automotive dealership or wholesale parts environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information effectively.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Five years of experience in an automotive parts department.
  • Strong communication and managerial skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Acceptable driving record and valid in-state driver's license.
