Newport, Kentucky, United States Brighton Center Inc Full time
Job Overview

Position Title: Child & Family Resource Specialist

Employment Type: Full-Time

Classification: Exempt

Brighton Center, Inc. is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency through comprehensive support services, educational initiatives, employment opportunities, and leadership development.

Mission:

We believe that every child should have equitable access to exceptional early learning experiences. Research indicates that a child's brain develops rapidly during the first six years, establishing a foundation for lifelong growth. Unfortunately, many families face obstacles in accessing early education. We are committed to bridging the gap by connecting families and children with essential resources to facilitate access to early learning programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about local early childhood education options within the region (Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties) and collaborate with providers, stakeholders, and community members to enhance referrals to educational programs.
  • Work alongside families to identify their strengths and link them to community resources and public benefits to minimize barriers to early education enrollment.
  • Assist in identifying systemic challenges that hinder young children from accessing early education, including, but not limited to, racial disparities and families facing economic hardships.

Qualifications:

  • Exhibit cultural competence and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, racial equity, and inclusion.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License, personal transportation, and current vehicle insurance.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Northern Kentucky area.
  • One to two years of experience in human services or Early Childhood Education, directly engaging with families and young children.
  • Experience in conducting strength-based assessments and person-centered planning.
  • Preferred: Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education or Human Services.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive benefits package including:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Retirement Plan with a 4% employer contribution for 403b and an additional 2% matching option
  • Generous Vacation and Sick Leave
  • 11.5 Paid Holidays
  • Childcare Discounts
  • Agency Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Opportunities for Professional Development
  • Education Awards

This is an exempt position with a salary range of $38,000 - $40,000.
