Program Management Executive

A leading health services organization in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to lead their Program Management Office (PMO) as their new Program Management Executive. In this role, the Program Management Executive will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end program strategy and management for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and reporting on all initiatives supported by the PMO.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the PMO and support all large and complex projects that are directly tied to the organization's strategic goals
  • Manage and mentor a team of project managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for direct reports
  • Partner with leadership to ensure initiatives assigned to the PMO are in line with the organization's strategic goals, prioritized appropriately, and business and IT resources are assigned
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and budget
  • Work closely with cross-functional departments to understand project requirements, align on the strategy, and formalize a project delivery schedule
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business, Science, or related field
  • 3+ years' experience managing large complex projects (i.e., multiple project managers, 15+ project staff, $2 million or more project budget)
  • 5-7 years' experience working at a health plan in project management or operations
  • Experience using a PMI-based Project Management Methodology/Process Improvement methodology
  • Experience implementing third-party applications
  • Knowledgeable of the software development life cycle and the ability to operate effectively within the process
Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proficiency in Project Management and Process Improvement tools including Microsoft Project, JIRA, Excel, and Visio
