Job Summary:

As a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedics, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team at Kaiser Permanente. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team in Denver, Colorado.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and review patient medical histories, perform physical examinations, and analyze laboratory or radiologic studies to assess patients' medical, physical, and socio-economic status.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans aligned with the practice preferences of collaborating physicians, including orders for medication and other treatment modalities.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on treatment plans, disease prevention, and health promotion, promoting culturally-sensitive health and resource information.
  • Document examination data, diagnostic impressions, and patient care activities in medical records, adhering to organizational policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, lead by influence and innovation, and model integrated effective patient care and exemplary service.
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Nursing (for APNs) or Bachelors Degree (for PAs) from accredited programs.
  • Graduation from an accredited graduate nursing program (for APNs) or a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) (for PAs).
  • Advanced Practice Nurse Registration (Colorado) or Physician Assistant License (Colorado) or Pathologist's Assistant Certificate from National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire and Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
  • Foundational Orthopedic skill set, including reading of orthopedic x-rays, general ortho exam of all joints, and ability to perform large joint injections and aspirations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ortho experience or specific certified subspecialized training in Orthopedics.
  • UC or ED experience.
