Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Bariatric Medicine/Surgery team at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO. As an APP in this role, you will work closely with a team of surgeons and other APPs to provide top-notch care and patient experience.

About this Role:

This is a full-scope position that involves working in the clinic, hospital rounding, and in the OR. You will see approximately 13-14 patients per day for H&Ps, follow-ups, and assisting with new consults, follow-up management, and elevating to surgeon as appropriate. You will also work in the OR 2 times per week, so first assist experience is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Triage incoming referrals, including pre-charting and determining which provider the patient should see and timing of appointment
  • Work in the OR 2 times per week, assisting with surgical procedures
  • See approximately 13-14 patients per day for H&Ps, follow-ups, and assisting with new consults, follow-up management, and elevating to surgeon as appropriate

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program or an accredited School of Nursing
  • Unrestricted NP or PA license in the state of Colorado, required or able to obtain DEA and BLS
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a NP or PA in a bariatric and/or surgical setting with first assist experience, required
