Laboratory Operations Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at WCM-Q. The successful candidate will provide operational support for research laboratories and supervise various activities related to the planning, performance, and supervision of basic and/or clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure laboratory safety, efficiency, and quality control.
- Provide orientation, training, and supervision of staff, students, and visiting scientists in the application and use of new equipment and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure safety practices are monitored and mandated safety requirements are observed.
- Coordinate the safe, timely, and appropriate processing, storage, and shipping of biological specimens.
- Ensure facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor financial and accounting activities of the laboratory.
- Perform basic laboratory experiments or routine laboratory procedures as needed.
- Manage databases of cell lines, antibodies, oligonucleotides, and other biological reagents.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents and order supplies as authorized.
- Negotiate prices with external vendors for equipment purchases and place orders.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with WCM-Q, local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay up-to-date with standards and best practices.
- Prepare IACUC and IRB protocols and yearly renewals.
- Assist principle investigators and post-docs with preparing Material Transfer Agreements and budgets for grant submission.
- Organize lab meetings and analyze data for presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Approximately 2 years of related laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership competencies, including ability to motivate staff and work effectively in a team
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
